Elizabeth
Hall was the first major building erected on campus
by Mr. Stetson and is the grandest building of them
all. It was John B. Stetson's crowing contribution to
the university, and it is the best example of the careful
planning of Dr. Forbes president of the university.
Elizabeth
Hall was named for Elizabeth Shindler Stetson, John's
third wife. The building was designed to remind Stetson
of Independence Hall in his home town of Philadelphia.
