Public Utilities - Municipal Airport - Capital Project Management - Stormwater


The following goals have been established for the Public services Department during recent goal setting meetings with the City Manager.
PUBLIC UTILITIES
  • Improve accuracy of City Utility Maps, GPS coordinates for hydrants and valves, Tagged elements tied to map coordinates (GIS)
  • Implement preventive maintenance program for hydrants, valves and major plant equipment.
  • Acquire well field property and develop preliminary engineering plans for well fields for well fields sufficient to meet projected potable water needs through FY2020.
  • Negotiate Interlocal Agreements with Orange City, Lake Helen and Volusia County Utilities for potable water interconnects and program necessary improvements for physical connections and metering.
  • Resolve CIP issue of 800 MHZ vs VHF radios for general City wide use.

MUNICIPAL AIRPORT
  • Facilitate selection of and lease to a permanent fixed base operator to provide customary FBO services at airport with the intent that the FBO operation become financially independent.
  • Following goal setting workshops, develop revised capital improvements plan for both airside and non-aviation development
  • Secure airfield perimeter with fencing, locked gates or card reader activated gates.
  • Complete back-logged airport capital projects, i.e. Tee Hanger D replacement, Airtech Taxilane construction, auto gate with card reader, environmental study.

CAPITAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT
  • Complete Police Station and associated development on Stanley property in accordance with timeline established by City Commission.
  • Complete Streetscape
  • Complete programmed Earl Brown Park improvements including Little League fields and Spec Martin Stadium Parking Lot.
  • Complete Wastewater Treatment Plant Expansion in accordance with established schedule and budget.

STORMWATER
  • Program projects to provide standby power to Earl Brown and Painters Pond Pumping Stations.
  • Identify and program key stormwater problems citywide and identify solutions, estimated costs and possible funding sources for these projects.
